Four Days to Glory
One of the things that binds the wrestling community is the idea that outsiders “don’t get it.” They don’t understand the hard work, determination and tolerance of all sorts of pain that wrestling requires. They don’t get why a young man would starve himself, why a young woman would cut off all of her hair, or why any athlete would punish themselves as much as wrestlers do. However, a part of the “you just don’t get it” attitude wishes that more people WOULD get it. More people would understand the beauty of the sport, and support it. More people would get why we spend our cold winter weekends in smelly gymnasiums, and perhaps, join us there.
