NWCA All Star Meet
Last night, the NWCA staged its All-Star meet at the University of Oregon - yes, that University of Oregon. More than 4,000 fans showed up for this meet and saw a pretty good show. At 133, Hofstra’s Lou Ruggirello, who shocked me a few weeks ago when he pinned Missouri’s Tyler McCormick, blanked Minnesota’s Mack Reiter, 6-0. Ruggirello’s teammate, Charles Griffin at 141, defeated Oklahoma State’s Nathan Morgan. My wrestler to watch, Mike Poeta, won with a pin in the first period over Wisconsin’s Craig Henning.
